Acceptable Usage Policy

Updated: 22/03/2008

This AUP outlines what our policies are to protect the user and other internet users from the inappropriate use of the internet. We reserve the right to update this from time to time. We expects our users to co-operate fully with any investigations we need to undertake regarding internet misuse. Any content that violates this AUP will be removed. We reserve the right to remove any other content that we deem is unacceptable without notice.

1. Fair Bandwidth Use (excludes extreme packages)
Heavy bandwidth use by a small number of users can significantly reduce available bandwidth for everyone else on the pipe. We do not believe that this is fair. Heavy bandwidth often results from using P2P (Peer to Peer) or file sharing software, sending of mass mail (SPAM), virus/malicious code infection, etc. We reserve the right to advise heavy bandwidth users to move to a different, more suitable package else be disconnected from their current package. Please contact sales@allfastaccess.com if you would like to discuss your requirements

We do not define heavy use of bandwidth in terms of GB used, to do so would require constant adjustments to this figure as average users' usage patterns change. For example, in the space of just one year the average users increased their viewing of online video streams; We would not want to accuse all of these users of suddenly being "heavy users". Instead We use 'Modal Monthly Average Peak Bandwidth Usage Analysis' to ascertain the current monthly average of the majority of users, using modal rather than median average automatically highlights any users that fall outside of the masses. These individual users' traffic logs are then compared to known 'Traffic Pattern Profiles' to see if the user appears to be using file sharing and other software that is often stealthily switching from port to port, IP address and time-bursts. This way we can reduce the 'false-positives'. We will then compare queued IP packets caused by this user's 'Traffic Pattern Profile' and see if their monthly usage affected the pool of "average" users; if it did then the user is tagged as a "heavy user".

If users are concerned about the way we monitor our unlimited packages then we recommend either purchasing an extreme package or a capped package. Please note policy still applies to capped packages
